On 31st October 2025, Rokidmo International Foundation successfully conducted its sixth Early Childhood Teacher Training Workshop for preschool teachers in the Dimbulagala Division.
The program took place at the Welfare Society Hall, Medagama, in the Dimbulagala Division, Polonnaruwa District, North Central Province of Sri Lanka.
This workshop was organized by the Early Childhood Education Development Authority (Ministry of Education, Information Technology & Cultural Affairs – North Central Province) in collaboration with Rokidmo International Foundation.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Nishandanee Samarakoon, Senior Early Childhood Development Consultant and Founder & Directress of Rokidmo International Foundation, whose 25+ years of expertise shaped an insightful and practical training experience.
A total of 50 preschool teachers from Dimbulagala participated with enthusiasm, gaining new knowledge, practical strategies, and hands-on experience relevant to their classrooms.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Nishani Nawarathna, Early Childhood Development Officer – Early Childhood Education Development Authority (North Central Province), for her continuous dedication and support.

Workshop Highlights:
Promotion of competency-driven, child-centered & theme-based approaches in preschool teaching.
Hands-on group activities where teachers created practical teaching aids for everyday classroom use.
Insights into improving fine motor development, hand–eye coordination, and natural pre-writing readiness.
Encouragement of creative, motor-based, age-appropriate learning practices instead of early formal writing.
Collaborative group work fostering teamwork, innovation, and professional peer learning.
